2011 Scion tC 2dr Hatch
180-horsepower 2.5L I4 6-speed manual FWD
Moon roof makes clicking noise every 5 seconds. Louder than wind noise and stereo. Tech kept the car for 2 days but nothing was done. Two weeks later, took the car there and showed the noise to tech. Next appointment is end of April.
Took it in for the same moon roof noise. Left the car for 2 days and nothing was done again. The noise is there everyday to & from work but they just say the noise isn't there. The moon roof started to rattle too recently.
I found a broken part on the moon roof rail of the passenger side. They replaced the whole rail because the broken part is a part of the rail. The noise is gone, but it sucks that "I" had to find the problem rather than them to get it fixed
Noise was still there. Brought the car in. Prove the existence of the noise to the service manager. Dealer kept the car over a month trying to fix it. They were not able to fix it and gave up on fixing it. Dealer won't do anything more.
In case anyone is interested, I uploaded the video of the roof noise on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-mQGLz1RLuE
The dealer was not able to fix the problem. They bought the car back.
Hatch door handle broke after a very cold period (down to 8F). No recall on handle at the time but dealer repaired at no cost to us. A couple of months later Toyota released a TSB for this exact problem.
Body needs welding because of rattling, it took two days to fix the rattling noise in the back The upholstery of the sunroof is ripping off still under warranty so they are going to fix it but it takes away to get the part and they are going to replace the whole upholstry
Rear hatch garnish where the the opener mounts. It had some broken clips and was coming off. Dealer replaced under warranty(extended warranty due to class action lawsuit over this issue apparently)
While pushing clutch pedal in and out, a loud squeak from engine bay could be heard. Found rubber boot covering clutch mechanism to be not installed properly, applied chain lube to part and reinstalled boot cover.
Opened sunroof and driver side window rattle when going over bumps
excessive rattling when runroof and driver side window were partially opened.
Moonroof intermittently not closing properly. Electrical system reset, tracks lubricated.
Rattle in hatch (common complaint among tC owners). Cushions installed at dealership, noise is eliminated. Side airbag sensor recall preformed per Toyota.
Rust on driver's rear quarter not due to collision, road damage, or other incidentals. Spot rust in paint chips on A pillars from road debris strikes.
Lower splash shield and bumper retainer snaps failed causing sagging bumper and scraping at high speeds. Simple, inexpensive repair caused by previous owner not installing bumper correctly. First repair ever done since owning the car.
Passenger vanity mirror / sun visor broke the internal spring that keeps it sprung closed. I think its repairable, otherwise buying a junkyard replacement
Hood seal deformed, creating wind noise. Hatch struts weak. Both replaced under warranty.
Sunroof doesn't close completely- leading to wind noise- T.S.B. issued
Free rattle repair in driver door.
moon roof rattles. came out of the track.
interior trim panel on hatch fell off. was missing both attachment pins.
