2017 Subaru BRZ 2dr Coupe

205-horsepower 2.0L H4 6-speed manual RWD

25000 mi Synchros for 1st and 2nd gear were worn out, making it difficult to shift into gear, especially when cold. Entire transmission was replaced under extended warranty from CPO purchase.

2015 Subaru BRZ 2dr Coupe

200-horsepower 2.0L H4 6-speed manual RWD

7440 mi Shifter rattling in 2nd gear. Dealer performed inspection. Regreased all items. Problem persisted. Dealer said Subaru recommends replacing transmission on warranty. Replacement of transmission resolved shifter rattle. 
41540 mi Replaced transmission. Syncros bad in 2nd and 5th gear, difficult to shift in cold. Replaced under warranty. Clutch also had "marbles in a can" sound at idle with A/C on in certain conditions and some downshifts. Throw-out bearing is changed with the transmission, haven't heard any sound with the new one. 
62000 mi Throw out (pilot) bearing replaced due to wear.
