Reviewed: 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

4dr SUV 185-horsepower 2.7L V6 5-speed automatic RWD

Why the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara?

Reliability & durability

Good reliable vehicle. So far no major problems. Vehicle is made to survive every kind of adverse weather and road conditions.

Handling

It is a RWD vehicle so it handles better than FWD CUV ex. RAV-4, CRV, etc. It rides more like a RWD based sedan but still you feel like driving a small truck.

Feature availability

All of the standard features for the price. 6-speaker audio with subwoofer. Steering-wheel controls, Automatic Climate Control A/C. 185hp/184ft.lb V6, ESP, Traction Control, TPMS, Keyless entry and starting system, etc.

Cargo capacity

It can tow up to 3,000 pounds. Cargo Capacity is adequate for a vehicle this size.

Why Not the 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara?

Ride smoothness

When riding into bumps and harsh surfaces it makes the vehicle feel very unstable, and also the suspension provides a very harsh truck-like ride.

Materials & workmanship

A lot of cheap plastics in the cabin but Suzuki did a great job of making a good mixture and usage of the cheap plastics. They do not look bad but still they look a bit cheap.

Depreciation

The vehicle depreciates more than the competition. 2007 GV are now worth some $16,000 USD. When bought new this SUV was worth over $23,000 USD.
