4dr SUV, ext. 183-horsepower 2.7L V6 5-speed automatic RWD

Why the 2002 Suzuki XL7?

Price or payments

The prices are ridiculously good compared to CRV or Rav4.

Reliability & durability

Both, this truck never left me stranded and always gave warnings if something was about to go or wear out. Tough as nails mechanically, uncomplicated suspension, bullet proof engine & transmission and integrated ladder frame.

Discounts & incentives

A most unpopular model, incentive were off the charts.

Driving position & visibility

Its a small and rather narrow trucklet with slim pillars, cut down windows and great sight lines.

Why Not the 2002 Suzuki XL7?

Depreciation

Plan on keeping it a while. Depreciation on this unpopular truck is brutal. Buy it cheap and drive it into the ground.

Brand reputation & image

Suzuki is regarded as a third level brand in this country, unfortunately.

Quietness

This is not a quite ride on the highway.

Fuel economy

For how small and light weight (relatively speaking) it is, the fuel economy is dismal, around 17 mpg city real world. That is down near full/mid sized pickup territory.
