Interested in the Avalon Hybrid only for real world fuel mileage. Years 2014-2016. I do mostly rural driving and occasional highway (5-6 hrs). Thank you for your time. debbie

Hybrids really don't shine at highway speeds as they do better in city driving where they have more opportunity to to recharge the battery. Car & Driver topped out at 39 mpg for their highway test, where the v6 did 33 mpg. Fuelly link below for hybrid is much worse.

The hybrid is not much worse. Owners are getting about 37 MPG combined. You'll see about 39 when city driving. If you are looking to buy an Avalon, get a 2016 or newer one. The 2013-2015 had a bumpy ride.
