2005 Toyota Prius Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by tbthorne

Materials & workmanship
Having driven a Prius over the past 5 years I can honestly testify it is as well made as any other comparable vehicle.
Feature availability
No searching for a key, or use of a key for entry and start up. GPS is highly valuable. You can surround yourself with air bags. I bought this car from private party - the amount of features for the price was also remarkable!
Cargo capacity
Cargo area is too shallow. Tall items have scratched the rear window film. Additional weight has a more adverse effect on MPG than a non-hybrid car. Not recommended for towing :(
Exterior styling
I can see why many people would not be attracted to the styling, but styling is not why we buy them.
Quietness
Like most small cars, it could use more sound deadening is the body.
Interior styling
05 black mat interior finish on the dash and door panels scuffs easily. I see they have replaced it in newer models. Shifter position and interior styling overall is a great improvement over first gen Prius.
