1000 mi Steering Rack Sensor which affected my steering was taken in twice (for 9 days total) including the day after the original repair.  Returned for the same problem as Trip one. It was repaired after 2 days in the shop (11 days total between both repairs). Light has gone on twice since June (as of today, 7/15/09) and I may need to return and review my states Lemon Laws. 
2000 mi Returned to the dealer for steering light (lost the car another 2 days). 
3000 mi The car was returned for a third time for the same issue - steering rack (light goes on). The dealer has been awful throughout this ordeal. 
7000 mi I continued to have issues with the steering column light. Since this was the 4th time in for the same issue, VW gave me a 2010 VW CC.
