Manual transmission was no longer able to shift into gears while engine running. Diagnosis: failed pressure plate in clutch. Complete clutch replacement.
75000 mi
US $2000
Complained of issue with engine having acceleration problems. Dealer originally diagnosed as clutch slipping and recommended replacement of the clutch. Clutch was replaced. Picked up the car and the same problem still existed.
Car went into limp-in mode, wouldn't shift out of 2nd gear. Also problems with reverse engaging. Dealer said mechatronic unit failed, VAG unit reported pressure, valve problems. Mechatronic unit replaced at no cost to me.
Manual operation of DSG was not as smooth as when new. i.e the problem was with the physical shifting of gears. Dealer opened the transmission, found the lube to be below factory spec, added more lube/ fluid. Problem resolved - under warranty.
37000 mi
DSG was working rather strange. DSG was delaying engagement unpredictable and random. It came to the point when I press accelerator and vehicle would wait for second or two before start movement. When driving becomes a science - it's time to move on.
One off problem hopefully - Reverse gear would not engage. Drive was ok but when in drive the D on the display was flashing. Turned engine off and on again and problem disappeared.
46700 mi
A $390
Transmission was serviced and so far the problem with reverse gear has not reoccurred.
Noise due to defective throw-out bearing in clutch assembly (apparently common in manual transmission 2009-11 2.0Ts). Dealer chose to replace entire assembly (flywheel, clutch plate, TOB and slave cylinder) with updated parts under warranty.
CC has a know issue for its drive train, the car has a very noticeable bump into gear when driving off from a stop. It is related to the electronic shift, when you come to a full stop the transmission shifts automatically in and out of gear.
89500 mi
US $5000
Transmission was failing to shift and would overheat and cause car to go into limp mode.
22500 mi
DSG surging at stop. reported to dealer and software update installed. Now transmission shifts very quickly, car excellent and shifts quickly - doesn't hang like it did before. Joy to drive. Highly recommend the software upgrade.
13600 mi
Mechatronics unit replaced
118000 mi
US $3000
replace dsg clutch
34000 mi
Transmission displays lag upon starting from a dead stop. After a second or so the transmission engages and moves the vehicle.
35500 mi
Transmission "brains" were determined to be defective. New parts had to be ordered from Germany and were delayed.
50000 mi
Bought CPO used car that had issue with Mechatronix module that was replaced for free under warranty. Car had jerky starts/stops. Is a known/common issue with earlier DSG equipped VWs. Fixed and LOVE it now.
Car not taking off when stepping on gas after coming to a stop. When driving below 20mph the car has trouble deciding whether it wants to speed up or slow down. Was told that it was something I needed to get use to it, nothing wrong.
The clutch failed during a high performance driver education event. Total mechanical failure, but not normal driving conditions. The lining on the pressure plate de-laminated. Found the throwout bearing failed, but not sure if this was cause or effect.
