What Our Members Are Saying about the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta / Golf / GTI

2010 Volkswagen Jetta / Golf / GTI Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2011 2dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
I have MS, so comfortable seats are a must. This is the only car that I've been in where I could do a non-stop trip from Michigan to Washington DC in. No fatigue, no stopping for a stretch. It's that good, and VW throws in standard heated seats for the GTI. And they do mean "heated" seats, not "warmed" seats, not "take-the-edge-off" seats. Turn them on full and your bum will be roasting with in a few minutes. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Golf / GTI review

Firm, yet comfortable. Excellent lateral support in the turns. Excellent thigh support fro taller driver. Can sit for hours and still feel comfortable. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Golf / GTI review

Seats actually fit your body and have proper bolstering, unlike most other seats in this price range which are more like shelves for oversized American behinds. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Golf / GTI review

The front seats offer very good support and the seat bottoms are designed for tall drivers.. see full Chevrolet Volt review
2012 Chevrolet Volt Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2013 4dr Hatch 149-horsepower Electric + Gas
CVT FWD
The rear seats have limited leg room. A forward facing child car seat (Safety 1st Air Protect) is fine but to install it rear facing would make the passenger seat almost unusable and being a 4 seat there is no option to install in the middle of the rear which i find allows in many cars a good way to keep everyone safe & comfortable. see full Chevrolet Volt review
2012 4dr Hatch 149-horsepower Electric + Gas

Front seats are semi-hard and covered in strange material. I could see people larger than myself having issues with them. see full Chevrolet Volt review

No power seat in a $46k car?? Get real, Chevy. Once you get used to them, though, both front and rear seats are comfortable for up to an hour or so. Longer than that and I need different lower back support that it doesn't have. But they are heated which is nice and it's comfortable leather. A few tweaks and/or an optional chair & this would be a non-issue. see full Chevrolet Volt review
