I wanted a car with some personality and a lot of speed. I'm 60+ years old so I didn't want a kids' sports car, but neither did I want an appliance. I love to drive, although my daily commute is pretty much flat and straight. I did a lot of online research and ultimately choose the VW GTI. I didn't test drive any other car, not even the 2015 Golf, which would have been a bit less money.
The GTI has not disappointed. It is fantastic as a daily driver, gets great mileage, is quick when I need it, terrific brakes. The interior is clean, superbly put together. Seats are great.
This car deserves all the fantastic car reviews and awards. It is by far the best car I've owned. I'm very happy with it, and am intending to keep it for many years.
