What Our Members Are Saying about the Seat Room and Comfort of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI

2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI Seat Room and Comfort: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Plenty of space, good lumbar support, nice side bolstering. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
With only one car, I needed a sporty car with legitimate rear seat room and an automatic for the other users. I have had 2 6ft passengers in the back seat without complaint. The cushion could use a little more height/angle to aid in leg support. Nitpickin see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 4dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
well bolstered, firm, both driver and passenger seats have height and lumbar adjust see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
With the 4 door GTI I can drive 4 full size adults around in comfort. Easy ingress-egress. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
Fits me perfectly, all controls ideal for me. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 4dr Hatch 150-horsepower 2.5L I5

2007 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
Excellent seats and comfort, however occasionally find the seats a bit narrow and the foot well can be tight in some shoes. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
The sport seats in the basic black leatherette are nicely bolstered though not overly enveloping like seats in my FR-S. This means it hits a nice middle ground of comfort but still keeping you from being thrown around in aggressive driving. The manually adjusted seats are easily positioned to a comfortable state after you figure out which of the 4 levers is doing what. The adjustible thigh support is especially nice and not something I often see in this segment. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 2dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
The front seats offer great lateral support. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 2dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
Zero fatigue on long drives, natural driving position see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI Seat Room and Comfort: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 2dr Hatch 170-horsepower 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
It works fine for me, but if you have adults that use the rear seat often they may find it a little uncomfortable for long trips. The legroom is decent, but the seats are a bit hard and not all that ergonomic. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 2dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
Great for my kids (4 and 7) but small for adults. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2006 4dr Hatch 115-horsepower 2.0L I4
4-speed automatic FWD
Seats could be firmer though adequate. It has no lumbar support and expended use probably will change the shape of the foam used in the seat. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review

What Our Members Are Saying about the Powertrain of the 2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI

2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI Powertrain: Pros
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Lots of torque all across the power-band, entertaining amount of power but still very reasonable on gas, especially on the highway. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Peppy, smooth see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
The VR6 has real character. It tends to be a little rough on cold start-up, but the noises it makes are intoxicating. Once warm, it is smooth as a turbine. The DSG is a wonderment, changing gears seamlessly, and exactly when you ask for them. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
Great 2.0l turbo engine, very torquey, no turbo lag at all, nice engine sound. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
The powerful V6 with a low RPM torque band starting at 2300 RPM which makes it a great city car vs my previous experience with 4-cylinder turbo engines in like compact vehicles. Engine as coupled with the DSG tranny is a fantastic combo. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
The engine performance is very exploitable but not overwhelming. The DSG transmission exploits all of the engine’s strengths of a wide torque band and quick response. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
Very linear you can feel the power through the entire torque curve. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Smooth, linear, exceptional power for class. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 2dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
The narrow angle VR6 is a spectacularly smooth engine once warmed up. Paired with the tuned exhaust system it makes Porsche-esque noises and has strong, turbine like response in the midrange revs. Just enough power to keep you from getting into trouble. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
Peak torque comes on between 1500 and 2000 rpm and stays through redline in the first 3 gears (DSG transmission). Quick, smooth and easy shifts with steering wheel paddles, faster than I can shift a manual. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI Powertrain: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2007 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
The engine is where I'm probably the most pleased and simultaneously disappointed. First, only having 190hp makes zero sense when this same engine will make 228hp in the X1. The low end feels extremely strong, but as the revs pass 4500, power tapers off significantly much like the MKV GTI does. It feels 100% artificially limited considering all the technology under the valve covers of the B46 engine, though. My wife rarely spins the engine to that upper rev range, so it is completely fine for her driving style. That said, the "fake" limitation really hurts the Clubman's value proposition against the other hot hatches on the market. The 6MT and clutch are easy to modulate and smooth, but both lack the engagement and feedback of my FR-S. The rev matching feature on downshifts work well. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2007 2dr Hatch 150-horsepower 2.5L I5
6-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Can be a little sluggish, transmission is great, but automanual not very useful. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 100hp 1.9L I4 Diesel
5-speed shiftable automatic FWD
Sluggish in the winter. see full Volkswagen Jetta / Rabbit / GTI review
