I was coming out of an old BMW that I loved and thought I would get another BMW until I drove the 2013's and didn't like them. I needed a car and saw a GLI at the market and thought it looked great. After doing some research, I found this car was reallya Jetta in name only. Different motor, suspension, interior materials, etc. I leased this car figuring it would be practical, fun and relatively inexpensive (I got the Autobahn w/ Nav and DSG). I have had the car almost 3 years with 40k miles and the car has been 99% of what I expected. I get about 28-29 MPG all around, the car has zip when you need it, and it is comforable on long trips. Plus is has one of the best steering wheels ever made, adaptive Xenons, a wonderful Fender audio system, and great exhaust note (even if it is somewhat artificial). If there are any downsides, the stock Dunlop tires are barely acceptable, and if I owned the car, they would have been gone a long time ago. The ride is decent but I notice lately feeling it is bit flinty. I chalk this up to the wear on the tires, and maybe because of the awful roads I drive every day, some suspension might be wearing. The car has been trouble free.I have the free scheduled maintenance (up to 30k miles) and the wheel and tire insurance. I have literally only paid for gas on this car since I got it. I would highly recommend this car to anyone considering it.
