Exterior styling

I liked the space of a wagon. After driving a tiny convertible for about 5 years, I was ready for something bigger.

30k miles for $16k (this was in 2006). Pretty cheap compared to other similar brands

Safety & braking

Volvo has an excellent reputation for safety, though when I drove it, at times I felt like I was driving a Ford Escort.

Powertrain performance

Again, felt like an econobox rather than a premium brand
