Hello,
I am in the market for a used 2012-2013 Volvo S60 R-design AWD and would like to know if any owners have had any issues that they have experienced with this type of car. I have never owned a Volvo before and the one I am considering has 55K miles, which is an acceptable ~9K/year. Just wanting to know about the reliability of this generation of Volvos, thanks!

I can safely say that no one buys this car expecting it to be reliable. That is what a Lexus or Buick is for. The S60 has had good reliability on TrueDelta, but I wouldn't expect to get more than 80k miles out of one that already has 55k miles. A used Lexus IS or ES or a slightly used Buick Regal would be more reliable.

I am still awaiting to test drive and look over the vehicle before I decide to buy. What was hard to find is the amount of R-Designs made for 2013 sales. I did see that 23,210 Volvo S60s were sold for 2013 year, but I honestly don't know how many of those had the R-Design trim. It has been hard to find many used R-Design S60s for sale from that year so I am hoping that is a good sign in that there are not a lot of issues being had with them, or as a sign that the owners typically are hanging on to them as a good thing. I've noticed more 2015-newer S60s are available for sale.
Thanks again for your input, I will approach this possible buy with caution and with more research being done.
