ETS light on.Car went into "limp home" mode.Towed to Volvo dealer.Scanned with computer & said it was battery cable problem although other fault codes pointed to Elect. Throttle Mod.(which was under warranty).Replaced 1 battery cable myself.Prob.not fixed 2nd trip in a week for Electronic Throttle Module problem.Dealer said it was bad battery cables and replaced 2 for $576. ETM under warranty but they refuse to replace. Picked up car and broke down again the next day. Volvo dealer wanted to perform ETM cleaning ($550)and then replace PCV ($600) before replacing ETM under warranty. I removed the ETM myself and had it rebuilt by firm in Colorado for $600 plus shipping. Replaced it,problem solved. Not happy with Volvo. |
