Nov 2017 26000 mi US $215	Passenger side lower control arm hydraulic bushing was leaking oil. This is a very low probability repair. Usually control arm bushing rarely fail. This was likely a manufacturing defect early infant mortality. I bought the part at Autohauz and had it shipped to me. Capital V Volvo installed it.
Dec 2018 31000 mi US $1185	First I took the car to the Dealer. He reported that the CV boot was leaking. He quoted $600 to replace the CV boot. I also got an estimate from two transmission shops. They told me they needed to replace the driver's side axle. Examining the old axle leads me to believe there is no trauma to the axle. The leakage is likely a manufacturing defect. This should have been caught before the warranty period expired. So I bought the Axle for $500.00 and hired one of the shops to replace it. I suspect that the Dealer is motivated NOT to find problems with the car before the warranty period expires because then he has to fix it. The CV boot leakage looked very very old and looked like it had been there for a while. The oil was leaking out the side near the metal band. Again, the shops claimed that a stick or stone hit the CV boot and caused leakage. However, careful detailed examination of the CV boot and metal bands revealed no physical damage at all. I believe that this repair was caused by a manufacturing defect and was missed earlier by the Dealer during the warranty period. Volvo is supposed to cover this kind of defect to the transmission, if found before the warranty period is expired. The warranty just expired last year. However, the leaking oil looked new at the leak near the metal band, but the spilled oil around the old axle looked very old and dried and caked as if it had been there for several years. OEM Driver's Side Axles for this year are only bought from the Dealer and do not usually go out. This is an unusual repair for this age of car.

This was a major effort, and took 1 week to fix. Upon fuel tank repair dealer noted that the engine block was cracked where oil pan attaches. Someone had crudely repaired with JB weld. Dealership and Volvo are both pointing passing on the blame, and disputing with Volvo.
Mar 2014	Replace power steering pump for 2nd time. Pump very noisy and dealer noted dirty fluid with metal flakes.

The trouble codes were checked in the alldatapro.com/alldata database. For P0190, the condition was that the Engine control module (ECM) measures the fuel pressure in the fuel rail using the fuel pressure sensor. The ECM checks the direct voltage from the sensor. Possible source of the problem: open circuit in signal cable or ground lead, contact resistance and oxidation in the terminals, short - circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable, open-circuit in the signal cable, or damaged fuel pressure sensor. A fault symptom is that the engine misfires but this does not happen. For P061A68, this DTC is not caused by a fault that needs to be remedied. The codes were cleared and no repair was done.

The fuel pump fuse was pulled and the car was started and restarted until it would not. The T-25 torx screw which I had tried to remove in December 2017 and February 2018 was finally removed. The screw was in a difficult position and I was able to use a tiny ratchet with a T-25 torx bit (taped with electrical tape to the ratchet so that it would not fall out) to remove the screw. The fuel pressure sensor twisted loose from the fuel rail and there was no pressure and very little fuel in the fuel rail. I replaced the sensor and the screw and the fuel pump fuse. The car started right up. The next week I drove on a 300 mile trip and checked the codes at the Vicenza Auto Skills shop and the problem had cleared. The rear door hatch would not open beginning in May 2018. Work had to be done from inside the car. Part number 31276958 replaced.
