Still so happy I got a used engine with 88K on it for my lovely Subaru car with 167K miles. Since the new engine 9/2011, I have just needed recharge or repair on my air conditioning system, I am not sure which. Yay!
169000 mi The AC stopped working at full cold, got that fixed with Mechanic A, but then it still cooled poorly but a little.
169300 mi I decided to take it to the dealer, got it recharged and it worked great. But then the fan and related temp electrical went out. The dealer then charged me 135 to change the fuse!
173000 mi Condenser failed
235000 mi

US $300
Right headlight going out intermittently
145600 mi

US $400

141000 mi Rear wiper motor froze. New motor $214.00 not includind labor. I removed motor, not easy, external nuts were rusted. Drove out frozen shaft, cleaned, lubed shaft, reinstalled wiper motor, good as new! Pays to do it yourself.
88000 mi

US $150
alternator malfunction - replaced
100000 mi Replaced previous remanufactured alternator with fresh remanufactured one provided under warranty through NAPA. Previous NAPA alternator lasted <20,000 mi and < 3 yr, but warrantied for 3 yr (better than Subaru warranty).
