The car is build like a tank.
2007 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
I have hadzero major mechancal problems in 99000 miles. One repair: I had to replace a fan unit.Other than that it has beenbasic maintenance. Fantastic.
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
In 2006 the car was offered with 4 years free maintenance.
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
No problems
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
At 158k miles it's been fairly reliable, but has had continous issues, non of them cheap. In no particular order: Radiator water pump - 2 timing belt ribbed belt idler wheel bearings both rear wheel bearings both rear window lifts interior material cracking, ie arm rests, center console both sunroof sun shades broken center console latch broken windows switch failures craked engine cober/air box - terrible design! cylinder head replaced - porous casting leaking coolant hatch lock switch stop light switch

2013 4dr Hatch turbocharged 140hp 2.0L I4 Diesel
6-speed automated manual FWD
Not so much. It's been in the shop for various reasons 35 days in the first year of ownership. So far both front axles have been replaced, several tires, various other suspension/steering bits, and a few rattles. One of the windows auto up/down feature broke then fixed itself. The same window will on occasion roll itself back down.
2008 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed automated manual FWD
From what I read and hear from Audi owners, these are not cheap to maintain, and the maintenance is a little too frequent.
2007 4dr Hatch 250-horsepower 3.2L V6
6-speed automated manual AWD
There seems to be a steady parade of high dollar systematic issues with Audi vehicles. Every vehicle has maintenance issues, but this Audi has had design problems (sunshade, roof trim, ign coil, roof trim, HID bulbs).
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 105hp 1.9L I4 Diesel
5-speed manual FWD
Audi is not listed in car makers reliability top 10. They are known to have various problems, definitely not the choice to go for if reliability is your top priority.
2006 4dr Hatch turbocharged 200hp 2.0L I4
6-speed manual FWD
Audi has a reputation for selling maintenance-intensive cars and having owned several VWs I was not looking to Audi for being the most trouble-free option.
