The main differences between these cars is a heavy weight penalty for the R. The TT uses a alloy subframe similar to the A8. According to the published figures, the TT is quicker than the R.

This car has a good power/weight ratio, and IMHO has excellent performance when considering the great fuel mileage. With now standard quattro, it can get the power to the ground. I know, its not the TTRS, but short of a track, where can you use the performance?
I think this is the only sorta sports car that has the ability to carry my bike inside the car. Also flat panel TV up to 46" I can't believe some of the stuff I have crammed in there.
Why Not the 2012 Audi TT?
I like the looks, but there is a downside. As a geezer, getting in and out of the car is not easy. You sit down low, and it has these little gangster windows.
This car comes in 2 colors in '12. White and black. Other colors can be had, but be prepared to wait 4-count 'em-months.
