2005 Cadillac STS Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by daytripperdave

Exterior styling
Still looks great and modern
Interior styling
Modern, but not contemporary
Powertrain performance
Can get you into or out of trouble. Not the most powerful car, but enough to move you through traffic.
Handling
Slightly sluggish and lean, but really descent for a car this size and weight
Discounts & incentives
The dealer is willing to move these cars and therefore can price haggle.
Quietness
My car was quiet when I first bought it, but the wind noise keeps getting louder with age. The dealer replace some front door seals and the problem persist. I have tried different compunds on the seals and the wind noise is still there.
Fuel economy
This car is thirsty. I live in flat country and I get 15 mpg with 80% highway traffic. I only get 19 mpg on trips. It probably needs a 6th speed overdive for the highway.
Depreciation
This vehicle depreciated like a rock before the economy went bad. Now, people want to buy it for way under KBB tradein value and the dealers are worse for trade in.
Safety & braking
The brake pedal is soft and spongy. I can live with it in normal breaking, but a panic break is horrible.
