Reviewed: 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche

4dr SUT 320-horsepower 5.3L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD w/low range

Why the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche?

Exterior styling

Unique look and body lines that cannot be found on any other truck.

Powertrain performance

The 5.3L V8 is nice and powerful and can handle anything that has been thrown at it.

Cargo capacity

Being able to gain a covered 8 foot bed by folding down the mid-gate is an excellent feature. Tows a flatbed trailer with amateur drag car with ease.

Rear seat room & comfort

Plenty of room for 3 adults, even with a tall adult in the middle seat.

Feature availability

Dual zone climate control, auto dimming mirrors, and parking sensors. The parking assist is a must on a vehicle this large.

Why Not the 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche?

Fuel economy

It only averages around 14 to 15 in a mostly city driving environment. Was hoping the V4 mode would kick in more often to help improve the economy.

Dealer practices

Had to fight with dealer about vehicle using 1 qt of oil every 1500 miles. Took about 18 months for issue to be acknowledged and corrected.
