2009 Chevrolet Cobalt Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Owner Pros and Cons by drakt1234

Powertrain performance
0-60 in 5.5 sec although GM says 5.7
No lift shifting and launch control with competative mode. Limited slip diff as an option. Consistant power from just over 2k thru redline.
Handling
This FWD car beat a STI and EVO in car and drivers testing and was only .5 sec behind the NISMO 350z. Its 8:22 time at the ring (on a wet track) is tied with the M3 and faster than the 350z, S2000, and the R32.
Discounts & incentives
PEP2 pricing, employee pricing and other incentives make this car cheap for its class and top it off with 0% for 60 months or 1.9 for 72 and this car is crazy cheap.
Interior styling
The interior has its drawbacks but I love the red and black seats the red trim and the boost gauge. The car looks sharp.
Dealer practices
After trying to get me to buy a tire protection package for an hour I got maybe 10 min from the dealership and a tire was low. I later find out the valve stem is loose and that just struck me as a bit odd. The tire was fine earlier but then loosend up. BS
Rear seat room & comfort
Not alot of head room and the steering wheel does not telescope. I fit in it fine but someone tall might not. minor thing really.
Interior styling
Same complaint you always here about the cobalt ss. The silver plastic looks terrible and the handbrake looks like a male dogs genitals.
