Reviewed: 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

4dr SUV 182-horsepower 2.4L I4 6-speed shiftable automatic AWD

Why Not the 2011 Chevrolet Equinox?

Price or payments

Except for GM supplier pricing, no budging on price. Much more expensive compared to Escape

Driving position & visibility

SInk into the driver seat so the driving position is not as high, even with the seat height adjusted to the max. Large blind spots in the rear quarter, so one needs the optional rearview camera.

Front seat support & comfort

Front seats are not very supportive, and you sink down into them

Powertrain performance

The four cylinder engine strains hard to accelerate on highway ramps.

Feature availability

The models available at the dealer all had AWD, when we preferred to have a FWD vehicle for better gas mileage and price.
