Reliability & durability

So far, right at 3 yrs./36K mi., our 2010 Chevy Equinox has been: 1. Very reliable and durable 2. No oil use 3. Timing chain A OK. 4. Excellent mileage-in town 23-26 Mpg. highway (2K rpm/ 60-63 MPH) 29-36 MPG. 5. Using AMSOIL XL motor oil (5W-30 or 10W-30 OK here in CA) abd Nano-fiber in-line cartridge oil filters has really helped. OCI-10-13K/1 year. Filter changes: 7K/6-7 mos./then 4-5K/3-4mo./ then 2K-2 mo. max. The On-Line Oil Monitoring System (ONLMS)is working great--indicating 8% oil life left after 12,400 mi./1 year).

So far, our 2010 Chevrolet Equinox has driven "great." Concord Chevrolet (Concord, CA) is a great dealership. They worked the "deal of the century" for this 2010 Equinox after we had a terrible experience with a 2004 Saturn Vue we had previously purchased from them.

Front seat support & comfort

Front seat comfort and room is great. Driver side lumbar support continues to work great.

Rear seat room & comfort

We really like the track sliding nature of the rear seat. Give passengers in the back plenty of leg room. Also, the large rear doors make it quite easy for our aging parents to get in and out of this vehicle. This feature, more than any other, really "sold" us on the Chevy Equinox.

Driving position & visibility

The one thing that "bothers" us about the current generation (2010-present) of the Chevy Equinox are the rear side "blind spots" because of the thick rear pillars. These "blind spots" force one to rely too much on the rear-view mirror and the two outside mirrors,esp. the right side outside mirror which may not give one a true distance of how close or far away the vehicle on your right is to this vehicle.

Our previous GM vehicle, a 2004 Saturn View (4 cyl. 2.2 liter engine with 5 sp. manual xmission) had suddenly "died" on us on a trip to SoCal at the Kettleman City southbound exit on I-5 the night of 12/09/2009. Concord Chevrolet worked the "deal of century" for this vehicle. We are very happy.
