There was a loud clicking noise coming from the blower motor at all speeds. They replaced it. I have been getting a very defined alternator noise since purchase on xm radio stations and with onstar usage. It had been bugging the hell out of me and the third dealership would not fix it. So I didn't re-up onstar or xm for this reason.
Bluetooth module forgets phones. They had to fight with OnStar to get the part ordered. It still has not been received yet.
My airbag light was intermittent. A sensor wire in the dash was loose.
One of the key fob's stopped working, the dealer replaced it.

Lock actuators for both driver and passenger door were replaced due to intermittent seizing. Front grommet holding on engine cover was replaced due to disintegration. Engine cover fell off, the intake disconnected, that's how it was found.
Airbag light was intermittent. Replaced a connector and the light never came back.
I had three different smart phones over the life of my car, and the system could not stay paired. The phone profiles would just disappear, calls would drop, it wouldn't auto connect, the car would say no bluetooth phones were setup.
Airbag lights would not turn off and indicated that they had been activated.
Battery drained on its own. Had to replace battery and reset electrical components. Got recall letter after this repair was completed. Part still not available for recall, on wait list.
Service air bag light coming on and off. Dealer replaced CPA connectors due to service bulletin # 08-09-41-002F related to code #B0019.Cleared codes and everything is ok.

Bluetooth Antenna and base were replaced since a red light was appearing on the rear view mirror. Unfortunately, this did not yet solve the problem.
Onstar Bluetooth antenna needed a second antenna replaced which seems to have fixed the problem.
AIRBAG WARNING LITE WAS INTERMITTENT. DEALER FOUND LOOSE CONNECTION UNDER FRONT PASSENGER SEAT.
Passenger side headlight burnt out.
Airbag warning light on and off for the past year. dealer never pin pointed the problem. Cost could be $100.00 to over $1000.00. Took in for recall on airbag system and the problem is fixed.
Left Front Power door lock failed for the second time in two years. Solution: left front power door latch was replaced under warranty Vehicle key remote fob fails to work in very cold weather. Diagnosis: battery clamp solders break in cold temp Solution: fob replaced under warranty
XM Radio antenna not working--still not repaired, more parts ordered
Ignition switch would not turn off. Had to pull fuel pump fuse and disconnect battery to stop engine. Claimed bad switch. My same key works. Believe problem to be shift interlock issue masked by recall.
Service Air Bag message. Onstar saw problem when I called and asked. Mechanic could not find error log or error in history log. Not fixed. Will have to go to dealer.
The airbag warning light came on, was inspected and reset. No continuing problem.
SERVICE AIRBAG light is lit. Light comes and goes. I was unable to find a cause.

no satellite radio, not working. had to get new radio.
AFTER I PURCHASED THE HHR ABOUT 5 MONTH LATER THE AC STOPPED WORKING. ONLY WARM AIR WHEN AC WAS ON.VENT FROM AIR TO COME FROM OUTSIDE WAS WARM.DOOR WAS STUCK CLOSE TRIED TO FIX BUT SOMEONE BROKE THE DOOR THAT WAS STUCK.
Tire pressure monitor system error on right front tire. System was reset and working properly now.
Fuse block needed replacing. Bent connection in manufacturing was disconnecting fuel circuit.
Part took 2 weeks to arrive. NOT HAPPY THAT HHR-SS PARTS ARE COMMONLY NOT AVAILABLE.
Stereo and turn signals randomly died.
Air Bag warning during left turns. Component replaced. Left front tire pressure sensor randomly shows ---. Replaced Car won't start if car sits to 2-3 days in cold weather. Charging system passed tests. Dealer says the battery is failing because it sits too long without use. I drive the car almost everyday but they didn't believe me due to low mileage.
Battery replaced, it wasn't holding a charge. Reported to GM dealer many times but it always passed their tests. Local shop replaced and problem never occured again. Moral of the story? Never get your car fixed at an authorized dealer!
Wiring harness to fuse panel shot a 3rd time. Bumps cause all electrical to go haywire.
This car only has 56000 kms because it was plagued with electrical issues its entire life. I purchased it brand new. I will never purchase another GM again.
speedometer malfunction, showed 120 mph at all times. Replaced.
Replaced passenger side rear tire pressure sensor. No charge.
Air pressure monitor in three of the four wheels blanked out
Having problems with the TPMS. In warm/hot weather constantly getting Service indicator on dash. Replaced a couple of sensors. Resetting wouldn't solve the problem.
Occasionally, all gauges stop working (only register zero) or speedometer reads 20-40 mph too high. Gas gauge goes from reading full to empty after driving 40 miles. Dealer says nothing is wrong with car.
I hope this will fix the ongoing problems with this car. So far the failing odometer/gas gauge problem hasn't recurred. Now there's a rattle in the steering column and the radio doesn't tune properly. I'm going to live with these, rather than try repairng
remote door controllers failed. batteries replaced but did not fix problem. controllers for left and right door locks were replaced. seems to have fixed the door remote problem.
this is the third battery I've had in this car in 8 years.
all the warning lights on the dash lighted up. cleared codes except for tire pressure. That one is permanently lit.
Most of the dash warning lights are on. The tire pressure warning will not stop
heated seats repair.
Rear window defogger didn't work. Light came on but no action. Both remotes worn out, buttons no longer reacted to touch. This is at least th third remote I've had swapped out. The first two times were free and this time they charged for both. Added 200 to. Estimate.
Outside temperature sensor replaced because of faulty readings.
Remote entry quit working and also tire pressure monitors quite working.
3rd trip to dealer door locks very eratic this time replaced body control module and 1 transmitter twice first new one bad locks still bad dealer has been waiting for 3 weeks for loaner so they can try again
passenger airbag warning left rear electric doorlock left turn signal intermittent no cancel passenger airbag warning intermittent. dealer says its passenger seat belt retracter causing it. says they will cover cost since they botched it before.
I could not shift out of park. I would try time and time again until I got lucky. An internal short was found in the shift lock control solenoid. The dealer replaced the entire shifter assembly.
Both front speakers stopped working. This meant that there was no noise from the signals, warning lights, OnStar didn't work and if I pushed the lock button the 4 dings I always hear weren't there either.

radio would, at random intervals, change the frequency by 1 increment (ie., listening to 94.1, radio would tune to 94.3 or 93.9. sometimes it would change back. It stopped doing this the day before dealer visit, dealer replaced radio anyway!!!
key fob wouldn't work, dealer order new one and either didn't give me the new one or didn't order the part. key fob still not working.

Replace ignition key lock cylinder. Would not allow the key to turn the ignition switch. Had to have car towed by GM Road Service to Chevrolet dealer for repair.
Remote Door Locking mechanism failed -- AGAIN. I have an 11 year old remote that I've only replaced the battery on -- perhaps twice. I just had to go to the shop AGAIN this week because of the failed HHR Keyless Remote.
Power door lock on the Driver's side stopped locking the door. It did Unlock the door. The keyless remote stopped working AGAIN. This is the 4th remote I've needed now for this vehicle. My 1998 Chev Astro Van's remote is still working fine and has always been on the same key ring. The GM Keyless Remotes are GARBAGE!!!!
Key fobs for remote locks and starter did not work. And blower motor made a slight ticking souund. All replaced under warranty.

AC blowing hot air. thought needed recharge. Needed all new AC condenser.
Had to replace Heater/AC fan in cabin.
Mode door actuator failed under dash. Air would only blow from the Defrost and Floor vents. I manually moved the door so that the air only blows from the dash cents for the summer. Will Chang it back for winter.
on 4 th replacement of right rear tail light bulb, they are only lasting a day or two, has been a regular small issue, but frequency is getting much worse, right head light is also becoming a frequent replacement issue.
The problem is intermittent. The analog and digital coolant temp gauge won't function. When this occurs the AC will not put out any cold air. The coolant sensor has been replaced yet the problem persists.
Car's electronics occasionally go dead - as if there is no battery. Jump start works sometimes; push start always works. Dealer replaced starter. I commented that if is there is no power to open the doors, the starter is probably not the problem. ...
Same occasional "dead" problem. Fine CSR (from other dealership location) had tech friend who found service bulletin. Parts were ordered; appointment made; but local techs decided car did not need the parts. Nothing was done, so expect problem to recur.
Rear wiper motor stops when it is cold. Dealer ordered a replacement. Waiting for part.

Blower motor seized because water in drain well area got closed up with leaves. Resistor and fuse burnt out. Had to cut fan frame to get motor out to grease bottom bearing. Adapter ring only comes with new motor. Made my own part to hold in motor.
Firewall window drain got plugged with leaves. Water entered blower fan motor. Rusted bearing and motor brush assembly. Took apart fan motor re-lubed the bearing. Replaced burnt heater fan speed resistor.

Dome light defective. Fell off. Replaced full assembly.
Fan only worked on high setting, watercorroded electrical control, from a water leak.

Continuing electrical problem - resistor blows out on A/C. Successful, but this is a multiple repeat repair.
Blower motor resistor blows once or twice a year.
Headlight shorting out. Dealer repaired again.
Door locks on driver's side of car stopped working. BCM was flashed and found to be defective. Replaced BCM. Problem solved. Cost of BCM 500.00
Original alternator failed
replacement rebuilt alternator died after 2 weeks of use
wire incorrectly run to fuse block should have been run to battery terminal. Unknown when this wiring error occurred but may have been from factory.
Replaced frozen alternator and tensioner pulley assembly
Electrical problem in radio. Electrical problem in drivers side power window. Electrical problem in turn signal.
Also, had to replace turn signal switch.
Replaced cruise control switch. Power mirror switch replaced.
Replaced chafed wire in wire harness by cylinder #3
horn replaced due to weak sound and alignment corrected
Replaced A/C tube and hose. A/C had been making growling or whining sound previously.
Had to change driver side headlight. Had to remove the plastic wheel well cover with wheel cranked all the way to the right. Could not see the headlight during removal or install. Had a mechanic friend do it because I was frustrated.
Open circuits found in fuse block. Culprit turned out to the the fuse block (UBEC) connector, which was repaired manually.
Alternator failed. Not surprising after 139000 miles! $475 for an alternator I could have gotten for $120 at O'Reilly, plus $312 labor... that was a surprise.
Lost use of drivers side headlight low beam, connections checked and fuse replaced.

The battery had a dead cell. A free loaner vehicle was obtained and the battery was replaced free of charge under the warranty.
My gauges and message centre quit working. I tried restarting the car a couple of times. Still did not work. Checked fuses and all of them were fine. Left the car to check the internet for help. came back and it worked.
