Reviewed: 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

4dr Minivan, ext. 197-horsepower 3.8L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

Exterior styling

New models based on boxier front end which I like rather than egg shape of past models.

Feature availability

The entertainment system lets you pick what is playing in 2 back rows. It can be different DVDs playing to each row. Also you can watch up front (in park) or listen to radio, satelite radio IPOD or hard drive music.

Past personal experience

I have owned 4 since 1998 with no major problems. Also dealer service where I am is top notch. Daughter has a 1996 with 180,000 miles and is still going.

Interior styling

I like the overall style incl. halo lights and the stow & go seating. The back is very easy to configure to the seating or cargo space you need without removing seats. Lots of storage & cupholders.

Why Not the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

Quietness

As with previous models too much wind noise at high speed.

Fuel economy

I get less fuel economy than 2006 model I had. It is a heavier vehicle and not as aerodynamic. Without the 6 speed it might be less. 16 city 22 highway.
