4dr Minivan, ext. 251-horsepower 4.0L V6 6-speed shiftable automatic FWD

Why the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

Exterior styling

While the overall shape of the 08 T&C is boxy and strongly reminiscent of its debut shape, circa 1987, the Limited version of the vehicle looks rather stately, especially with the upgraded exterior trim package.

Discounts & incentives

I bought new 08 Limited with Nav, U-connect, 1 free year Sirius, voice activated everything, leather/suede seats, heated 1 & 2 row captains chairs, remote start, alarm, towing pack, 3 video screens, 2 dvd players, auto side and rear doors for CAN$36,000!

Interior styling

The interior styling is clean and practical with only small flourished of style, keeping very much in line with the exterior. Everthing is well places and the overall style is consistant throughout. Not breath-taking. Just practical, clean, pleasing.

Feature availability

This van has is all (if you get it fully appointed). The voice activated infotainment system works incredibly well. The navigation system is leaps and bounds better than my Garmin Nuvi. Park assist and backup camera work perfectly, even in the dark.

Cargo capacity

Nooks and crannys everywhere. Seems like every time I sit in one of the seats, I find a new cubby hole. With all seats in, it has easily enough room for a family of 4 to go camping for a week.

Why Not the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country?

Reliability & durability

Seems like a lot of people are having a lot of problems with this vehicle. Of course, 08 is a total rething of the line, so an increase in repairs from 07 is expected. Still, seems very high.

Materials & workmanship

Surprisingly thin application of exterior paint fails to fully cover welds in the foor jams; many small imperfections in diecast plastic parts; front doors rattle on closing, shifter is wobbley; lowest grade leather in history;
