An asterisk (*) marks results based on small sample sizes.
General NotesModels and statistics marked with an asterisk (*) have very low sample sizes. These results, visible only to logged-in members, provide only a rough estimate of car reliability.Any result under 20 repair trips per 100 cars is likely a result of the small sample size, and should be expected to increase to 20 or so in future updates.
New models often start out with high repair rates, and then improve as the manufacturer identifies and addresses common problems. MethodologyOnly successfully completed repairs are currently included in the analysis. Routine maintenance, most wear items, recalls, and problems fixed with just a reflash or warning light reset are not included.

Overall Ford reliability, although a new model, read lots on their QA/QC work to get this vehicle just right |

Not yet established. Previous Ford experience not favorable. |

This is my 10th and most favorite vehicle I have ever owned... with the exception of one itty bitty thing. I have poured over $3000+ into this baby in the last 2.5 yrs! It only has 88,000 miles on it! I guess I have been spoiled by always owning Honda's where I drove 200,000+ miles before any major problems started occurring, but the Edge has been a HUGE disappointment in this area. I'm still dealing with an electrical issue (which many people online have reported same issues with taillights burning out every couple months & melted sockets) but Ford hasn't issued a recall & I believe is the root to issues with my coils going out, my computer being fried, & several other mysterious COSTLY problems that Ford acts like I'm the only person on the planet that these things have happened to. I'm very car savvy & maintain cars well, but the types of issues I've had are unacceptable. |

This is the 10th car I have owned. I have always driven (except one car)foreign vehicles-primarily Honda's. I'm used to driving until at least 200,000+ miles with no major problems aside from normal wear/tear & minor maintenance issues (timing belts, brakes, alternators, starters, etc.)Although my Ford Edge is my all time favorite vehicle for styling, options, & comfort, it is also my biggest disappointment as far as reliability. I have poured over $3000+ into this vehicle in the last 2 1/2 years I have owned it & it only has 86,000 miles on it. It was purchased used, but was owned by the dealers maintenance mgrs son & was a certified pre-owned car. My check engine light still comes on periodically, my tail lights still burn out way too often with no explanation of the melted sockets, & the front end has unexplained knocking. I love it, but will trade it in if the problems continue. |

Considering that I have just had to put my car in the repair shop at less than 36,000 miles...Not very reliable nor dependable! |

2007 Model year was the first year of production, not sure if all the bugs were worked out . |
