YearBody/PowertrainComment
2010 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.5L I4 Hybrid

Excellent vehicle as I owned a previous 2009 Ford Escape XLT but decided to get hybrid. Very reliable!
2009 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.0L V6
6-speed automatic AWD
family member has one and has not had any problems, plus consumer reports on this vehicle
2008 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
have had no problems at all after owning for 1yr, 3mos
2007 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6

It has not broken down once since I bought it - most owners like the reliability/durability
2006 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
Looking for a small SUV to replace my 1990 Toyota PU. Do not buy cars often. Consumer report rated Ford Escape high on reliability. Rented this vehicle and drove from Reno to Lake Tahoe. Enjoyed the ride. Bought used only 2 yrs old, 17k, 1/2 off MSRP.
2006 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4
5-speed manual FWD
The 2.3L 4CYL engine is agreat little engine, and when teamed with the manual 5spd, provides a good level of fun and performance. As expected I have not returned to the dealer for anything since new.32000 miles.
2005 4dr SUV 153-horsepower 2.3L I4
5-speed manual FWD
I put over 90000 miles on my Escape with ZERO issues. ZERO.
2005 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
Fords track record overall.
2005 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
Almost 70,000 miles without spending a dime on repairs.
2005 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
it ranked right up there with comparable imports, and was cheaper than them.
2005 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic FWD
Purchased this vehicle new 4 years and 79,350 miles ago. Knock wood, it has never been to the shop for any repair.
2002 4dr SUV 201-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
It has cost very little to keep on the road.
Reliability and Durability of the Ford Escape: Cons
YearBody/PowertrainComment
2009 4dr SUV 240-horsepower 3.0L V6
6-speed automatic FWD
A bit jerking into gear on first gear already as new. Not sure how long the transmission can last. Ford Explorer was one of the MOST complainted cars in history. Not sure how well the Escape will stand up.
2008 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
reliability so not that great after 3 years it developeped some leaks, squeaks etc.
2006 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
Seems to go to the shop for little things frequently.
2005 4dr SUV 200-horsepower 3.0L V6
4-speed automatic AWD
The 2005 Ford Escape has been anything but reliable. Every couple 3 months this pile has fed me some more problems that hurt the wallet and leave me scrounging for a credit card to get buy until the next disaster. Do Not Buy This 2005 Curse!
