Reviewed: 2003 Ford Expedition

4dr SUV 260-horsepower 5.4L V8 4-speed automatic 4WD w/low range

Why the 2003 Ford Expedition?

Front seat support & comfort

Seat is firm, promotes good posture which makes it comfortable even on 12 hour days behind the wheel. Plenty of headroom for my fedora.

Driving position & visibility

Great big side mirrors, so this big truck is easy to drive in Chicago traffic. Visibility to the rear is improved by folding the third seat down, and both second and third seats fold flat. On the Tahoe etc., if you want flat, you must remove/store seat

Quietness

Conversation is easy. Radio listening is good.

Ride smoothness

Although seats are firm, the suspension keeps you comfortable. It also contributes to excellent handling on back roads or at high speeds.

Powertrain performance

I like having true 4wd, not just AWD, however this has 4 high, 4 low, awd, and simple rwd. We live in a rural area in heavy snow country, and this gets us through the drifts.
