35000 0 CVT transmission PCM module needed reprogramming to cure "excessive hunting" between 30 - 45 mph. Intermittent "beep" from driver info center at random times. No OBD codes shown and shop said they could not duplicate. 
36000 10 Fuel gage drops to suddenly drops to show completely empty with 1/3 of fuel left in tank. Engine stopped running stranding family on side of road. Towed to dealer who said it was out of gas and they put 5 gallons in it and it started. Tank then filled by me and found that 6.3 gallons remained in tank although reported "completely empty by de 
36000 0 Brought in for installation of wiring harness to repair outstanding fuel gage issue. TSB 06-17-02 performed. Did not fix problem. Car returned to dealer after driving and noticed that fuel gage still didn't work. Successfull repair of fuel gage problem. One of the two screens on fuel pump was defective. 
61000 0 Noticeable whine at slow speed right hand turns. Also a suspension "thunk" at slow speeds going over imperfections in pavement which sounded like a worn or loose suspension part. Neither was found by the service dept.

74000 100 Instrument cluster died. Backup lights came on while driving forward. Found out that there is a TSB on this problem. New cluster was ordered. New cluster was installed. 
86000 700 Check Engine Light came on and OBDII code P0401 was discovered. Dealer replaced the EGR valve and installed new spark plugs while intake manifold was off the engine. 
87000 350 Vehicle was making a "whirling" noise when at speed on the highway that went away when making right-hand turns. Right front wheel bearing replaced.

34000 0 Strange "whirring noise" when making turns. Dealer contacted Ford who stated there was a new grade of power steering fluid to correct the issue. So far, it seems to have done so. 
72000 140 Unintended acceleration. Had to apply brakes to keep from moving. Not as severe as if pushing down accel fully, but very disconcerting. Mechanic thoroughly cleaned throttle manifold. Gunk had accumulated, a sticky, gummy mess that affected the throttle.
