2011 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member5402 For the light weight of this vehicle, the engine performs admirably. With plenty of low end torque and a nice little HP powerband around 5000rpm, it works very well. |

2005 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Anonymous Maximum engine for this year was a 207 HP V6 |

2007 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member5150 I wish Ford had offered the DOHC 3.0L Duratec engine (200HP) in the Ranger instead of the 4.0 SOHC engine. The 3.0L Vulcan engine really needs about 50 more HP. |

2000 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member4855 Not the fastest compact truck on the street. |
|
2004 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member4576 The motor that I have in mine is nice however, I would like to have more Power, Maybe a V8 or maybe Fords newest 6 cylinder engine that would add about 100 hp to the ranger would be nice |

2007 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member4149 The 4.0L is a peppy motor. Granted it is not the most powerful but it is respectable. |

2006 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member1898 My latest Ranger has a 4.0 L 5 speed and really hauls a$$. I would have rather had another 3.0 L 4x4 for the great gas mileage - but this 4.0 liter is very inpressive on big hills and pulling a trailer. The tranny is silky smooth. Very nice manual... |

2008 Ford Ranger Pros and Cons Member1898 The 4.0L can be very hard on gas but if you want to get moving in a hurry this motor is a blast to leave stripes from every stop light. Lots of power for a small truck. 4x4 is great in bad weather. |
