2010 2dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 143-horsepower 2.3L I4
5-speed automatic RWD
Many still on the road after many years. My friend has a 2003 with over 190,000 miles with only normal maintenance.
2009 4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 207-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
My 2009 Ford Ranger Sport 4x4 with 4.0L engine now has approx 27,000 km and has not required a single repair. Owners manual suggests 12,000 km oil change interval but I change it on my own at 6,000 and then take it to the dealer at the next 6,000. I provide my own synthetic oil.
2008 4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 207-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
As said abouve I have owned 2 in the past. And as long as you stay away from the Automatic Tranny, reliability is top notch.
2007 2dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 148-horsepower 3.0L V6
5-speed automatic RWD
The 3.0L engine is not a powerhouse, but is proven design and is durable.
2007 2dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 207-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed manual 4WD, part-time w/low range
No major problems on any Ranger that I have owned. Keep up on basic vehicle needs and the truck will last for a very long time.
2006 4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 207-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed manual 4WD, part-time w/low range
This is my 3rd Ranger. I have had very good luck with my past Rangers. I was going to purchase a Toyota pickup. But got a reat deal on another Ranger.
2004 2dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 207-horsepower 4.0L V6
5-speed automatic 4WD, part-time w/low range
My Ranger does not Leave me stranded often. I dont have to worry about turning the key and not starting, as for Durability they will take alot of abuse.
2003 4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 154-horsepower 3.0L V6
5-speed automatic RWD
I know others who have had good experience with reliability and very long life for vehicle.

My Tacoma front axe had to be replaced at 15k. Rear differential started to go at 29k, and eventually went out at 34k. Rear leafspring snapped in half at 38k. Toyota told me to kick rocks. transmission actec funky when shifting. and more to the list.
