4dr Extended Cab 6ft bed 185-horsepower 2.9L I4 5-speed manual RWD

Why the 2007 GMC Canyon?

Past personal experience

I owned a 2005 Canyon four door SLE, with four cylinder and 5-speed manual. I put about 40,000 miles on it in about 2 years and was very pleased with the lack of problems and overall ability of the truck. I did want a bit more power and a nicer interior.

Feature availability

I really wanted a 4 cylinder engine and five speed manual. Its a good combo of economy and sporty feel. I like the ZQ8 package which makes my truck stand out. I needed the flexibility of the extended cab interior room. I also liked the 2-tone interior.

Price or payments

I thought the price was very competitive with other vehicles that offer the flexibility that an extended cab pickup (such as small SUVs).

Exterior styling

Its not boring. Though it took some getting used to, I prefer it to all of the Japanese competiion trucks.

Why Not the 2007 GMC Canyon?

Rear seat room & comfort

The two small jump seats in the extended cab are very tight, almost useless for an adult. Also, the plastic hardware on the storage boxes is cheap.

Feature availability

The base stereo (with six speakers) is disappointing. Even my 2005 seemed to have better sound. I still feel the interior is very plain, and wish there were other colors available. How about a blue interior like the good old days?
