Front left CV Shaft - inner boot had completely leaked grease. Replaced with new front left cv shaft - creaking, clicking noise while turning left, did mostly stop. But - there were still other noises and within a week I was back in the shop looking for additional answers. Turns out my lf strut developed a bad leak, which explains the puddling on the driveway (front left wheel area). Further assessment found rf lower ball joint loose/worn, rf lower control arm bushing torn. Set appointment for near future. --------------------- Replaced front L&R struts, RF lower ball joint and RF lower control arm bushing. |

Within 2 days of the job being done - I noticed considerable leaking underneath car. Smelled like brake fluid (same fluid used as clutch - hydraulic fluid). Brought the car back to the same shop - they had to tighten something related to the clutch master cylinder. I will drive the car for a week and report back. At a stop light - I pushed in clutch pedal. Heard a loud snap. I couldn't shift into 2nd,3rd gears at this point. I had to shift into 4th. While the engine was running, if you put the car in neutral, you could not select any gear. At this point, you had to turn the car off, push in clutch again, select 1st gear, then restart engine. I would consider this a catastrophic failure. The clutch was NOT slipping prior to this failure. Parts Replaced: Clutch kit, Cluster Master Cylinder, Flywheel machined. |
