Besides some transmission snafus in the past, most people I know with Odysseys have virtually no problems.
2010 4dr Minivan, ext. 244-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD

2008 4dr Minivan, ext. 241-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD
5-speed automatic FWD
2008 model. 20,000+ miles without an issue. bought it for reliability and quality and have not had one issue to date.
2007 4dr Minivan, ext. 244-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD

Number one rated minivan in America. Driven it in the rockies on skiing trips; driven it across country and around town. no problems. ever.

2011 4dr Minivan, ext. 247-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD

May not be as good as the Sienna, but it will still be a great inexpensive van for many years.
2008 4dr Minivan, ext. 244-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Odyssey has reported reliability issues.
2006 4dr Minivan, ext. 244-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD

Expensive and frequent repairs. Too many uncommon defects occur at warranty expiry. Honda Plus extended warranty covers everything that never wears out!
2006 4dr Minivan, ext. 244-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD
5-speed automatic FWD
The reliability of this van has been horrible and definitely not what i expected out of Honda. We bought it used from a family who meticulously maintained it at Honda. Anything that needed to be done, was done and done on time. first big issue was the transmission, it had 135K on the original. That costed about $5000 to replace, Contacted honda for assistance, they prettty much gave the middle finger. as its gotten more miles on it, its been problem after problem. and this van has been so expensive to maintain...for a 2006, parts are extremely expensive.
2005 4dr Minivan, ext. 255-horsepower 3.5L V6 w/DoD
5-speed automatic FWD
Many little problems. Always something. Reminds me of the Yugo.
2004 4dr Minivan, ext. 240-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Problematic transmission - see powertrain performance
2003 4dr Minivan, ext. 240-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Automatic transmission problems, trim falling off, radio shuts off each time battery runs down and requires a trip to dealer to reset, fuel filler door stops working which makes entire electric powered door not open on one side of vehicle.
2003 4dr Minivan, ext. 240-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Lots of reports of transmission problems on earlier models, but I think by 2003, they had it sorted. Power doors and rear windows are very expensive to repair when (not if!) they break.
2002 4dr Minivan, ext. 240-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
Transmission failed quite early even with changing transmission fluid every 10,000 miles. Not durable. Rattles, Squeaks, Hardware breaks, doors stick. Supposed to use only Honda brand transmission fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze. Next? Honda Air.
2002 4dr Minivan, ext. 240-horsepower 3.5L V6
5-speed automatic FWD
History of transmission failure, window motor failures, door motor failures, rattles, squeeks, etc.

Every time i get under this to repair something I am dissappointed by the lack of "Japanese quality", to me this vehicle simply does not have it. I repair all my stuff, and some things on this car are engineered fantastic. But more of it then not seems thrown together and the quality is sub par to what I expect out of an import. The subarus I have worked on are head and shoulders above the Mazda, Mazda should be embarassed. Early brake failure, early ball joit failure, recall on the ball joint connection point of the lower a arm, and mazda unwilling to repair it until it becomes more of a lifesaftey concern. I am sorry if my lower suspensiuon can come apart it is life saftey any play is too much, early driveline failure, early waterpump failure. Stay away from this one if you dont plan on doing your own repairs as its going to get costly.
