2007 Honda Ridgeline 4dr SUT

247-horsepower 3.5L V6 5-speed automatic AWD

191300 mi

US $160
major fluid loss from transmission caused by leaking radiator lines. Radiator had been replaced 2 summers ago by non Honda shop and non Honda hose clamps were used. The clamps eventually cut through the radiator. clamps were replaced in above visit, transmission fluid added, radiator flushed. After previous week repair related to transmission fluid loss, less than 300 miles later engine light comes on. Vehicle has increased difficulty shifting from first to second (this was present before prior repair) and flashing D indicator light would occasionally come on. Brought back to shop, solenoid code checked and reset, transmission fluid drained, dirty with shavings, refilled, Recommendation from Tech is transmission needs replacement
195000 mi

US $6000
Replaced transmission w Honda Rebuilt Tranny, warranty of 3 years unlimited miles. Had lost 2nd gear, should have been diagnosed several trips before, wasted about $400 on other attempts to save Tranny. Do not wait to replace radiator lines and radiator -it was the failure of those two that brought on significant transmission issues though I can't be 100% sure the tranny wasn't on it's way out.
