Defective brake switch affecting ESC and rear brake lights activation was replaced under a safety recall at the dealer in under 45 minutes.
With over 65% of the front pads Nd over 70% of the rear pads remaining, both sets of rotors needed replacement. These were dealer parts. Less than 40 K kms of gentle service. Unacceptable.
ESC turns off randomly, or after too much turning, often at slow speeds on back or side roads
Parking brake handle was pulling up too far, parking brake was ineffective. Disassembled and greased all parts.
Parking brake slipping.
Car is parked outside and on very cold days, the parking brake warning light stays on even when the brake is released. The brake isn't actually catching but the handle is not going down all the way. After about 5K, light goes off.
Upon release, parking brake lever did not go all the way down, causing brake light to remain on. However, did not effect actual braking. Dealer did repairs but brake light still comes on when lever released.
Brake switch malfunction caused the stability control 'Off' light to remain constantly illuminated even though the ESC was not disabled. Switched replaced and problem has not returned.
ESC OFF light comes on when it should not. Replaced brake light switch.

ESC off light was coming on and staying on, they replaced a few parts but came back on....once in shop unable to replicate it so we will wait and see if it happens again

The ESC light went on when the brake lights stopped working. I have another Hyundai tha was recalled for the same issue so I knew it was the brake switch. This car has not been recall for that but they use same components! NHTSA?
ABS problems, the brake light switch was replaced as part of a recall campaign
Front Rotors and pads replaced.
Squeak in break pedal. Problem not solved.
Emergency brake adjuster was sticking. Was cleaned, adjusted and reassembled, tires were balanced.

The ESC issue that was a recall on other models, which I tried to tell the service manager was the same issue I was having, is now a recall issue on my model.
All four brake pads and rotors were replaced. Worn down to nil. Major issue as this resulted within first 35000 KMs!

Grind rotors to remove rust
Key switch between to lock up. Dealer couldn't find the cause & don't fix. Also the gas cap door pops open sometimes. They ordered a new door, but the key locking up was a big letdown! A salesperson ask us if we would consider trading??
