Introduction

It provides the most technology and comfort for those wanting a luxury car that can haul up to seven people. I love the Mercedes M Class and BMW X5, but could not justify the substantial cost and still not get some of the latest technologies. I feel this car is under-priced.

Why the 2013 Infiniti JX?

Feature availability

After searching all cars in the class, the JX had more advanced safety features and creature comforts at a bargain price. The Back up Collision system is incredible and has saved me from a crash already. All the advanced features will spoil most drivers and I won't nuy another new car without most of them. It was worth the extra money for the options.

Ride smoothness

This is the smoothest riding car I've ever driven. I used to work for a large car rental company and drove thousands of cars. Nothing compares to the JX. If you are looking for a smooth and comfortable ride, the advanced CVT transmission with manual shift mode to replicate a standard transmission will surprise you. It is matched up with the 3.5 L engine, which provides plenty of power, but gives you good gas milage for a large car.

Fuel economy

I didn't expect to get 24 mpg on a long trip, nor 20 to 22 mpg in mixed driving. Even with a heavy load, I'm getting good performance. I don't notice much difference between premium and mid grade fuelsneither.

Interior styling

My KX is fully loaded and I appreciate how intuitive the controls are, and how they are laid out, making it easy for the driver to access everything within a short reach. The Infiniti Connection is a great feature and I use it all the time to have the operator send trip info directly to the Nav unit while driving. The seats are the most comfortable I've had in any car. The heated and cooled seats are wonderful and easy to control. I love the seating flexibility and how easy it is to configure. Easy access tothe 3rd row. Sun and moon roofs are great features too.

Brand reputation & image

This is our 8th Nissan product, and first Infiniti. We never had mechanical issues on any of the, and two made it over 300K miles without major repairs. We traded a fully loaded 2010 Armada Platinum fo the JX, and as much as I liked the Armada, I can see the quality differences in the Infiniti line. I like the fact that you get a nice loaner when you take your car in for service too.

Why Not the 2013 Infiniti JX?

Handling

The JX is not a sports car or high performance vehicle like the rest of the Infiniti line, but this car handles extremely well on any road and is an easy car to drive. Parking is a since with the camera and sonar alerts. I like the Blind Spot Intervention system, which nudges you back into your lane when you have someone in the blind spot or try to change lanes without signaling. Its part of the "Nannies" you may have heard of in other reviews. They are all nice.

Safety & braking

The are a lot of safety features including braking assists and air bags. I feel very safe on the road for myself and all passengers.

Conclusion

Excellent value, surpurb comfort with excellent gas milage for a big car thats easy to drive and park.
