2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: My review on the 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee Limited. by Bewar
Powertrain performance
I live in Kurdistan Region which is a very mountainous area and jeeps have a great off roading reputation so it wasn't a hard choice to make.
Exterior styling
I think Jeep done a great job on the exterior styling unlike the other American made SUVs the Jeep Grand Cherokee successfully sets itself apart from its American competitors with its sleek design which consists of fine lines and curves and gorgeous chrome accents.
Interior styling
I was surprised with the amount of soft materials used in the interior of this vehicle because with all honesty its a feature that most American made cars lack especially in the SUV segment so good job on that one Jeep.
Ride smoothness
Even though its a very heavy vehicle the ride is fairly smooth so you don't feel that your spine is falling apart every time you go off road or driving on a rough tarmac road which is good.
Safety & braking
The standard safety features in the Jeep Grand Cherokee surpasses its American and Japanese competitors in this particular segment.
Reliability & durability
I bought this vehicle brand new straight from the dealers show room its been seven months now and done only 4500 miles but I had to take it twice to the dealer for coolant leakage and water pump issues.
Handling
Now this vehicle is fairly stable on both off and on road but its not the best vehicle when you enter corners so if you ever intend to buy this vehicle I really recommend you take it very easy for the first couple of weeks until you really get used to the vehicle and determine the power or speed you are comfortable with to use when you enter and exit a corner.
Driving position & visibility
If you are off roading with this vehicle and you decided to go up a hill I strongly recommend you don't unless someone is on the hill guiding you or if you are alone stop the vehicle walk up the hill and familiarize yourself with the terrain because when you take this vehicle up hill in off roading condition all you will be seeing is the sky and the huge front section of the car.
Quietness
Its not very loud in the cockpit but it is also not as quiet as they said it is enough said.
Powertrain performance
Before you start judging I know I put the power train & performance in my favorite section of the vehicle as well but if you really want to bring out the best of this vehicle you need to go for the optional 5.7L V8 Hemi engine because the 3.6L V6 Penta Star is just barely adequate to run this monster.
P.S. Please keep in mind I'm not a car expert of any kind this review was purely based on my own experience and opinion Thank you.
