Why the 2010 Jeep Patriot?

Price or payments

The vehicle met all of my requirements: 4x4, reasonable fuel economy, reasonable towing capacity. I find the car to be roomy with excellent cargo space and it's easy to bring down the rear seats. The turn radius is amazing. I can pratically drive this thing around a tree. I was amazed at what I was able to do when I had to back a trailer around a bunch of obstacles. The dealer is the best dealership that I have ever done business with.

Powertrain performance

I don't particularly like the CVT transmission. It is sluggish to respond when accelerating. I find that the engine is noisy compared to my Toyota RAV4

Why Not the 2010 Jeep Patriot?

Reliability & durability

I was left stranded 200 miles away from home when I could not get the car out of park and had to have it towed. The car was practically brand new. It took a week to get the car repaired. Chrysler fixed the car at no cost but I had to pay to have someone take me home and then back to pick up the car. Many rear suspension parts had to be replaced with only 45,000 KM (27500 miles) on the car.

Conclusion

Overall, for the price, I'm somewhat satisfied with the car. Compared to my RAV4, it has a much better turn radius (the RAV4 is awful for that) and a smoother ride. But I prefer the powertrain in the RAV4. For roominess, the RAV4 gets the edge because the spare is mounted on the tail gate.
