Reviewed: 2011 Kia Forte

Why the 2011 Kia Forte?

Exterior styling

If you like the styling of Audis you will love the new Forte style, the hatchback looks like an A3 in my opinion.

Interior styling

The instrument panel is very bright and easy to read. I wasnt a fan of the broken apart instrument cluster but I enjoy it with this car.

Powertrain performance

The engine and transmission seem to work great together. I have been babying the engine so far but it ha plenty of power to pass going from 70 to 80 with out struggling.

Fuel economy

I was able to get 33 on my first tank going 75 on 90% highway driving and 27 with more mixed driving and highway driving at a highr speed.

Reliability & durability

Everything seems real easy to work on and replace. Looking under the hood, belts and parts are easy to get to.

Why Not the 2011 Kia Forte?

Front seat support & comfort

I feel the seat is to far away from the wheel and the pedals are angled to steeply. The dead pedal is perfect though.

Feature availability

THere are not to many available extras for it. It can come with a sunroof, or paddle shifters but most cars offer these features. It lacks blind spot warning and some of the fancier cruise control stuff, but this is an economy car not a luxury car.

Depreciation

The car apparently depreciates alot very quickly, if you buy cars to use for 3 years, you are doing it wrong. I personally dont plan on selling this for atleast 10 years so depreciation means squat for me.

Brand reputation & image

Kia is considered a cheap and crappy brand. Lots of people say they are improving but that is also saying it to someone who just bough a Kia or owns one.
