Why the 2011 Kia Sorento?

Cargo capacity

Large enough to carry items purchased at home improvement places like Lowes. The folding seat is nice compared to having to remove the seat as in some vehicles.

Price or payments

Very competitive pricing compared to like size and equipped vehicles.

Feature availability

I really like the filtered cabin air. I have not seen this on any other vehicle and I think it is very valuable for our health. There is a lot of toxic dust that lays on the roads and we inhale a lot of it without that filter. The warranty is great.

Discounts & incentives

There were some good incentives at the dealer.

Safety & braking

I like the electronic stability control, the hill start assist, and the downhill brake control.

Why Not the 2011 Kia Sorento?

Fuel economy

The window sticker said it would get 29 mpg on the highway. I did a 500 mile trip and averaged 25 mpg. On my last 5 vehicles I averaged 2 to 3 mpg more than the window sticker when on the highway. Something is wrong with this picture.

Ride smoothness

I think the ride is rather rough for the size of the vehicle, certainly a lot rougher than the chrysler T&C I traded.

Quietness

Too loud for my taste. Perhaps the tires play a role in that.
