2008 Lexus ES Pros and Cons at TrueDelta: Eight years of comfort, reliablity and near perfect owner satisfaction by mjd1123

Decided I wanted to trade up to a crossover and sold the Lexus. A truly wonderful car. Never left me stranded. Always reliable. Biggest non-warranty items were a new battery after 4 years, $4 tail light and a $300 front HID lamp (and that didn't go bad for 7 years). Great used car value for anyone looking. It's essentially a Camry with a ton of useful options. Great engine and transmission. After 8 years it ran almost as good as it did when new.
No fold down rear seat and poor IIHS small overlap front crash test (which, in fairness, did not exist when this generation of the ES was introduced. It did well in all other tests).
