Introduction

This car has been fabulous. With 205K miles, its still rides tight and has required only standard maintenance - brakes, timing belt, tires. I replaced the water pump but only because when doing the second timing belt I felt I felt i should.

I'm confident it will make it to 300K with little difficulty. I'm sold on the Lexus brand!

2005 Lexus ES Love Letter

The only negative I suppose is the car asks for high test gasoline. It only amounts to a few hundred bucks a year but I think newer versions of the ES take regular unleaded.

Conclusion

If your like most americans, you want a comfortable car that is reliable and safe. The ES gives you that plus the Lexus brand cache if that matters. The ES won't beat some of its german competitors around a track but its a fabulous ride and will be on the road far longer and cost you far less!

I am running PLUS and it doesn't appear to be bad. I will probably have to run FI cleaner at every oil change, though, negating the value of running PLUS.
