Introduction

So far, I have not experienced any problems with my 2013 Lexus ES 300h. I have driven the car over 20k, both long and short distances. The car drives very quiet and smooth. The acceleration is adequate for a car of its size. If you want sports car-like acceleration, simply place the car in sports mode. The sports mode is satisfyingly adequate to say the least. The two electric engines activate in sports mode giving the car instant torque and/or acceleration similar to V6 power.

The interior is moderately comfortable and luxuriously designed. Many negative comments are mentioned about the infotainment system, but I'm personally OK with it. I like the infotainment joystick control which is easy to navigate while driving. The seats are comfortable during long trips.

Since the car is similar to the Toyota Avalon hybrid, my local Toyota dealership handles maintenance services without an issue.

The fuel economy is pretty close to the manufacturer listed mileage of 39 city and 40 highway. On long trips, I normally average between 36 - 41 mpg. The fuel economy is really good. Also, the car is designed for 87 octane fuel, which is unusual for luxury cars. Luxury cars normally use more expensive high octane fuel.

Bottom line, I'm pretty pleased with the overall capabilities on the Lexus ES. My only gripe would be a better exterior profile or design. Lexus is the best produce in the auto industry, but they need better exterior designers to lift their brand on par with European cars. I would advise Lexus corporate office to explore using some European or American designers to assist with future exterior styling.

I gave Lexus ES 300h an 8 out of 10. I also would recommend for purchase.Hope this review helps someone.
