4dr SUV 263-horsepower 4.7L V8 5-speed automatic AWD w/low range

Why the 2008 Lexus GX?

Exterior styling

We were attracted to the unique styling and rare color of this GX470. Apparently Lexus made very few ib this Desest Sage color.

Quietness

We were impressed by how quiet the GX is on the freeway at 75-80 mph. It is substantially quieter than our old Honda Ridgeline, which is one reason we got rid of the Ridgeline.

Fuel economy

The GX has a 4.7l V8, but gets similar mileage to our old V6 powered Ridgeline, about 18 mpg. Very good for a V8.

Audio & nav systems

The Mark Levinson stereo is FANTASTIC, and the NAV system is almost identical to the one in our ES350, which makes switching cars much easier.

Ride smoothness

While the Ridgeline is known to be smooth riding, the GX is smoother, plus the GX has a shorter wheelbase, giving a much tighter turning radius.

Why Not the 2008 Lexus GX?

Color choices

We wish the interior color was darker than the Ivory leather the GX came with. It will be a major challenge to keep clean.

Fuel economy

You can always wish for better gas mileage.

Front seat room

Could use a couple of inches more leg room in the front, and we're only six feet tall.
