2005 Lexus LS Love Letter

The Lexus LS430 is not a sport sedan, so go elsewhere if you want something more than big, comfortable, sedate and reliable. With the V8, it's quick - much quicker than the non-turbo V6 sedans around. Handling is just fine, but it's not a canyon carver. The highest trim has adjustable air suspension which is not so reliable and costly to repair. I've put 150k on 2 of these over 6 years and only had 3 repairs: wheel hub, door lock motor and headlight leveling sensor.
Every time I get into the LS after riding in anything else including big cars, SUVs etc., I can't believe how solid and serene it feels. Cars like the current Impala, Chrysler 300, Lexus ES and Toyota Avalon just don't have that feel.
Some things I like:
Luxurious with all the bells and whistles just now available in most brands.
Excellent seat comfort with lots of adjustability incl dual lumbar
4-500 mile refuel range; VERY short turning radius.
Big 2-layer center storage console - big side door pockets
Ambient lighting in lots of places
Very large trunk; lots of rear legroom
Steering wheel raises and moves forward when key is off - return when on
Touch door handle to lock and unlock car (2004-2006)
Mirrors turn down in reverse to see parking lines/curb
Rain sensing wipers; voice-activated navigation system
Finishes in and out are perfection.

What don't I like? Premium gas req'd, clouding headlight lenses over time, changing timing belt at 90k.
