2019 Mazda CX-5 Signature Turbo Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh I continue to struggle with listing "handling" as a reason to buy a CX-5. On the one hand, the Mazda crossover handles significantly better than its direct competitors. With relatively communicative steering and a well-damped suspension, the CX-5 is very pleasant to drive (if not as pleasant as the surprisingly... Comparison vehicle: 2019 Acura RDX |

2017 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Handling...is relative, especially in this case. Compared to a well-tuned lower, lighter hatchback (such as the Mazda3 or VW GTI) no crossover in the Mazda CX-5's class feels agile or sporty. While some premium-brand compact crossovers (most notably the Jaguar F-PACE and Porsche Macan, likely the Alfa Romeo Stelvio as... Comparison vehicle: 2017 Honda CR-V |

2016 Volkswagen Golf SportsWagen Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh Professional car reviewers keep pushing their readers to buy wagons for one basic reason: handling. Wagons aren't as tall as crossovers (or they'd be crossovers), so they have a lower center of gravity, and handle nearly identically (all else such as tires and suspension tuning being equal) to the non-wagons... 2016 Hyundai Tucson Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The new Hyundai Tucson handles very competently and safely, but without even a hint of sportiness. It doesn't help that the crossover's steering feels numb and artificial even compared to a thoroughly mainstream car like the Hyundai Sonata. The Mazda CX-5 is more fun to drive thanks to more... Glad I did some research on the Mazda. 2015 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member536 I've had the Mazda on some back country two lane twisty roads, and, it handles quite well for an little SUV. The suspension is well buttoned up, and, the Mazda handles much like a sports sedan. |

Great package for a small SUV. 2014 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member177 Compared to the other small SUVs I test drove, the Mazda was clearly the best driving experience. Not that the CR-V, RAV-4, Forester, and Rouge were bad, but the CX-5 feels much more in tune with the road. In addition, I have been pleasantly surprised at the ride quality. |

Great CUV for road trips 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5591 My CX5 still handles like it did over 22,000 miles ago. The steering is still spot on and the bumps and road issues are still handled by the suspension with aplomb. |

Mazda CX-5 Goes Zoom-Zoom! 2014 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5772 Four-Year Veteran This car seriously handles like a compact sedan. It does not feel like driving an ordinary SUV at all. Zoom-zoom! |

2014 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh While the Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4 both put a high priority on handling, they feel very different. The RAV4's tuning is much firmer and tighter. It sounds and feels more raw. In comparison, the CX-5's steering and handling are much more subtle and nuanced. It flows through even bumpy... 2013 Honda CR-V EX-L Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh When the CR-V first appeared, its handling seemed car-like. After all, with no direct competitors aside from the RAV4, conventional SUVs provided the reference point. However, compared to the latest Ford Escape, Mazda CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, and VW Tiguan, the Honda feels tall and clumsy. Its steering has some slack... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Mazda CX-5 |
Mazda CX-5, the best overall compact SUV around! 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5102 I drove several SUVs (Honda CRV, Suburu Forester, VW Tiguan) and although all had their ups and downs, I liked the "feel" of the Mazda and Tiguan the best. They seem to pay a bit more attention to the handling ergonomics of the car with the driver's pleasure in mind.... |

Great handling, fuel economy 2013 Mazda CX-5 Pros and Cons Member5491 I have driven over 11K miles in this car since I bought it in early April, and the CX-5's handling is its best attribute. Anyone test driving should surely try the twisties! |

2013 Mazda CX-5 Review Official TrueDelta review by Michael Karesh The CX-5 handles very well...for a crossover. I've put this "pro" fourth because that qualifier is a big one. While the CX-5's chassis behaves very well, with admirable precision and poise, the crossover's higher seating position and center of gravity (compared to a car) never fades from awareness. The steering... Comparison vehicle: 2013 Ford Escape |
