This car does very well.. I drive mostly highway during the week, but a lot of rush hour driving means lots of stop and go. Even with that and the around town driving I do on the weekends, I am still averaging 38.1 MPG!
I've seen a couple posts saying the Elantra handles better than the Mazda 3.. I disagree. The Mazda feels more responsive and tighter to me.
I like the interior and dashboard/control design a lot. It is intuitive and clean.
I bought this car to replace a 2004 Mazda 6i Hatchback that I truly loved (got rear-ended and totaled). I did not like the 2012 Mazda 6 at all (or the milage it got), so I went the 3 with Skyactiv. The rear seat and rear legroom is just a bit too small. If it were a tad larger, this would be a awesome car, but the great mileage I get offsets this to a certain degree.
It's a small car and get's noisy on the road... I don't really think it is more or less than other cars in this class, though.
